Sotherden, Beth
I’ve been making art and crafts of one form or another all my life. I
studied painting at Syracuse University and currently my passion is for
painting expressionist landscapes in oil, acrylic, or pastel. I begin
a painting by experimenting with various materials and means of creating
textures, then allow the painting to lead me through a multilayered,
imagined landscape. A native of central New York, I enjoy the beauty
of the four seasons as inspiration for my art.
Schmidt, Millie St John
I have worked in clay for more than 40 years,
concentrating on form and exploring function. I am enjoying taking
excursions from mugs, bowls, vases, and casseroles and exploring dragons and
non-functional rock forms. In 2001 my artistic career took a leap when I
returned to college to enhance my visual skills. I received a BFA from SUNY
Oswego in painting in 2007. After 15 years, I closed my teaching studio and
gallery in Baldwinsville. I am currently a pottery instructor at Clayscapes
Pottery (clayscapespottery.com) in
Stisser Laura, I am a Baldwinsville resident and quit my career to be able to spend more quality time taking care of my two children and spending more time with my loving husband of 14 years. I picked up my first paint brush in January of 2010 by taking a few classes at BOCES and caught the bug. I work with acrylics, pastels and most recently watercolors. I have peeked interest in my work by word of mouth from friends, family and my favorite network, Facebook. I have already generated some income which I only hope grows into a more profitable business. I have the extreme pleasure to be currently studying with Delores Herringshaw and I feel extremely blessed to know and learn from her. (Back To)

Turner, Katie I currently reside in Liverpool with my husband and two daughters. My mother, Faith Fritz, an international watercolorist at the time, coached me as a fine art painter. I began drawing and sketching in my home town of Akron and other areas of Western New York and Niagara Falls during my teen years. My first love is watercolor but I occasionally delve into acrylic, oil and collage. I am a signature member of the Niagara Frontier Watercolor Society and belong to the National League of American Pen Women as well as several art guilds. My subject matter and styles are eclectic but I am partial to the Thousand Island rock formations and waterways. KatieTurner@KTArtStudio.com visit my website at: KTArtStudio.com (Back To)
Wehrung Kathryn, I joke that I was born with a paintbrush in my hand. My love for art started at an early age and continued throughout my life. I attended the University of Buffalo, taking classes in oils, watercolor and acrylics. “Always learning” is my motto…new technique, new use of color, how to capture light. After raising my family I returned to art working with watercolor and acrylics. Recently I studied with nationally known artists Mel Stabin, Tom Lynch, and Karen Rosasco. “So many ideas are in my head…. to be able to transfer them to paper and create an image, is so rewarding!” I use my own photographs that I have taken during my travels as references. You can see some of my work at The Inn Between Restaurant, The Oneida Lake Artisan Gallery and local area art shows. I am a member of the Art and Soul Watercolor Group, OAG Guild, CNY Guild and the Central New York Watercolor Society. (Back To)
